I wonder if Mary sang her song over Jesus, her words shaping his young heart with the verses, “He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.” I wonder if Mary was chosen to be Jesus’ mother because she had a humble and meek spirit. I wonder if Mary, full of grace, helped people in her community look for the Messiah while knowing that her son was the Chosen One.

Christ described himself as humble and meek, and many times, he sought out insignificant and unassuming people to interact with. He said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’"
