I wonder what Mary thought when passages of Isaiah were read at her synagogue. Did she see her son's future in the words, “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations…In faithfulness, he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.” I wonder if she introduced him to the concepts of mercy and justice.

This print captures the rich, colorful joy of mercy, as a golden light around the heads of Mary and Jesus. It shows layers of acrylic paint, pen, and gold leaf collaged together with common materials such as torn pages of music, envelopes, and cardboard.
